Honey Soy Stir Fried Chicken

Honey soy stir fried chicken. What a westernized Chinese dish lol But I like it. It’s delicious and takes no time to prepare and make! You probably have all the ingredients at home as well! Make this when you crave for some Chinese food, want to make a quick dinner, or when you want to use up a small piece of chicken left in the fridge. Best is to serve with steam rice.

Recipes (adopted from Week of Menus)

Ingredients:

Part I:
1 1/2 lbs chicken thighs/ breast, cut into 1 inch pieces
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons shao xing wine
2 tablespoons grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1 pinch of black pepper

Part II:
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tsp oyster sauce

1) Marinate chicken with all Part I ingredients. (I was hungry so I didn’t marinate ahead of time, but it’s ideal to marinate for a couple of hours or overnight).

2) Heat oil on high, in a heavy fry pan or wok until the surface shimmers.  Add chicken with all the marinade and stir fry until chicken is fully cooked about 7-8 minutes. Reduce heat and add oyster sauce, tossing chicken until it is all coated with oyster sauce.

3) Serve with rice.
